Road Town, Tortola, Thursday December 11, 2025 – This Christmas season, Republic Bank (BVI) staff embraced the spirit of giving through a “Dare to Care Challenge”, a staff-led initiative rooted in the Bank’s Power to Make a Difference (PMAD) programme. The challenge encouraged employees to select one of the PMAD pillars at random, design a community project and bring it to life. The result was a series of meaningful contributions that reflect the Bank’s long-standing commitment to service, sustainability, and community development.
Team Relevant embraced the pillar The Power to Help and set out to brighten the school experience for children at Enis Adams Primary School. The team replenished the school’s pantry with snacks and essentials. Their contribution ensures that students have reliable support during the school day.
Team Responsible selected The Power to Care and chose to focus on the elderly. The team donated a range of useful items to the Government of the Virgin Islands Social Development Department for the benefit of the Elderly Home in Virgin Gorda. Their gesture reinforces Republic Bank’s belief that care for older adults strengthens the entire community.
Team Resilient selected The Power to Succeed and carried out an initiative with long-term environmental impact. The team planted mangrove seedlings and contributed US $500 to the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Center for Applied Marine Studies. Mangroves play an essential role in the health of the Virgin Islands and their restoration is one of the most effective ways to safeguard the marine ecosystem and strengthen climate resilience.
These projects align with Republic Bank’s regional sustainability commitments, which include an emphasis on climate resilience, marine protection and building stronger communities. Republic Bank (BVI) extends its appreciation to all community partners involved.
